onward and upward

onward and upward

I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to the mountains with some of my closest of companions. We spent a whole week in a cabin (one cabin. 50 of us. crazy, I know), fellowshipping and worshipping and laughing every day from morning to midnight. It was incredible being surrounded by my best of friends for five days straight. Although that was fun and all, my favourite part was the hikes. We’d go into the mountains for hours and hike along beaten trails. Some people stayed in groups while couples tended to walk together. I however, treasured the times I was alone, hiking up a worn path with just myself and my thoughts. It was a very freeing time. I was able to really sort out my thoughts and emotions while in the mountains by myself. I can’t really explain how alive i felt there.

I do hope we return soon.
